WHAT: All the nightmares have been resolved, but Nightmare himself has appeared to make sure nobody wakes up! Fight and defeat him!
WHEN: Directly after Part 1!
WHERE: The nightmare world still.
WARNINGS: E for EPIC BATTLES.

The moment all the nightmares would be resolved, a resounding cackle would then be heard all across the nightmare world.

"So! You've all managed to conquer your nightmares somewhere or another... but try as you might, you still will not be able to awake from this world so long as I'm here!" And with that, one Nightmare, two Nightmares... multiple Nightmares appeared before each party of residents. Which one was the real one!? "The only way out... is to defeat me! But you'll never be able to fight me without the legendary Star Rod! And none of you can ever get it! Ahahahahaha! I'm invincible in this realm! You're all going to die here!"

Welp, he did give one important piece of info away - the Star Rod. Maybe making a stand against unbeatable odds might grant you such a weapon...

He had had about enough of this nightmare world - now it was time to put it to an end. His own Star Rod in hand, he pointed it at the Nightmare standing before him and his group. "Time to wake you up from your delusions, Nightmare!"

Sonic had his own Star Rod as well. Sure it was kinda cheesy looking but he won't look at a gift horse in the mouth har de har.
