WHO: Everyone!
WHAT: Traveling to Aquacorde, and then Pokemon Catching 101!
WHEN: August 28th
WHERE: Vaniville, Route 1 and eventually Aquacorde!

Well, after that strange introduction from Professor Sycamore, and all the introductions being out of the way, the Aides pull out some Pokeballs and continue with their explanation.

"All Pokemon come from these Pokeballs. We are going to teach you how to catch a Pokemon, so that you may use this knowledge. Not all of you have to become Trainers. There are Pokemon Breeders, and all sorts of things you can do here. We will be taking all of you to Route 2, just past Aquacorde Town, on some larger Pokemon that you can ride so that we may get there faster. It will be a one hour ride."

The Aides tossed their Pokeballs, and multiple Pokemon appeared - including a large orange and black dog, a large fiery horse and a giant rocky triceratops-looking thing.

"Please do not be afraid, they will not harm you. Hop aboard, and let us get on towards Aquacorde!"

Pause.

"I...might be able to help you with that? I kind of have a limited power over nature, so at the very least I can make sure you don't cut down a tree you shouldn't."
bunraku: (Who the FUCK are you?)

[personal profile] bunraku 2014-11-03 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
...

What.

"Run that by me again? I think I misheard you when you said something about power of nature?"

"No, that's about right. Faris called it Geomancy - it's a kind of combat magic that channels natural energy."

Entirely serious as she says this.
bunraku: (What the fuck do you call this?)

[personal profile] bunraku 2014-11-03 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Guess who totally doesn't believe this what-so-ever. Even though he's seen shinobi do it before.

"Mind showing me?"
unbroken_chain: (active)

[personal profile] unbroken_chain 2014-11-03 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Okay!"

Kotoha takes a moment to look around before facing the river off to the side and pointing at the bank.

"Gaia: Branch Arrow!"

There's no flashy lights or outward indications of the power she just invoked, but as soon as she says the words a barrage of pointed tree branches lance down from overhead, forming a straight line as they thud into the loose soil of the riverbank.
bunraku: (I asked you first!)

[personal profile] bunraku 2014-11-03 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Give him a moment.

Just a moment.

Mind rebooting...

....

Yeah, okay, he's got nothing to say to this other than to stare with his mouth agape. He's seen this kind of stuff before but this girl isn't a shinobi and she's not someone who'd be one even if she did try to pull that.

There are no words.
unbroken_chain: (mischievous)

[personal profile] unbroken_chain 2014-11-03 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Oh man, it's That Look.

Kotoha loves That Look.

She'll just wait for his brain to reboot.
bunraku: (I wanted to play Angry Birds.)

[personal profile] bunraku 2014-11-03 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Luckily it doesn't take too long and once it comes back on he's leaning forward just inches from her face.

"How did you do that?"
unbroken_chain: (laughing)

[personal profile] unbroken_chain 2014-11-03 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, not going to giggle helplessly at the ninja that makes puppets out of human bodies.

Not gonna, but it sure is tempting.

"I borrowed a crystal containing the soul of an ancient, legendary hero from a friend and carried it around with me for a month as I fought demons. Now, even without the crystal, the skills of the warrior are mine to use freely."

...demons?
bunraku: (What the fuck do I have)

[personal profile] bunraku 2014-11-03 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
Demons.

Man, he's not questioning it when they have the damn tailed beasts. And his brother having been essentially a demon for years upon years.

"Makes about as much sense as anything else around this place, I guess. Let's just... get goin', alright? I want those powders as soon as possible."
hagyjbeken: (Serious thinking)

[personal profile] hagyjbeken 2014-11-03 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
Oh hell to the yes, this is Hungary's type of thing. She immediately gravitates towards the fire horse, reaching a hand out to let the creature sniff her and know she's not a threat. Luckily she has Matthias, the furfrou, tucked safely away in his pokeball to not spook the thing.

Once that's completed she grabs for the mane, paying no mind to the fact it's, well, fire, and pulling herself on bareback.

Sorry, aides, she's got this shit down and knows how to deal with horses.

"We going to go or are we just going to stand here? I mean, I could just take this darling off your hands if you wanted me to..."

[WOW.]

...Mmm, I'd like to play another game besides Tetris...if that's okay.
myheadisnotbig: (Wut?)

[personal profile] myheadisnotbig 2014-11-06 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
A pale hand waves in the air. The other hand is holding onto the tail of a quiescent and rather heavy-looking magikarp slung over the boy's shoulder.

"Yeah, uh... I don't think my pokemon can do any of those moves. Mostly it just flops around! What am I supposed to do?"
unbroken_chain: (lost)

[personal profile] unbroken_chain 2014-11-06 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Kotoha blinks. This is Eikichi all over again, though at least this kid isn't into punk rock.

Hopefully.

"Well, most Magikarp start off with Splash, which, yeah - is basically just flopping around. But they can learn attacks...you might want to try seeing if it knows Tackle?"

Slight pause, as she remembers Eikichi.

"...also, I feel like I should warn you in advance: when Magikarp evolves, it becomes a twenty-one foot long rage monster. So be nice to it, okay?"
myheadisnotbig: (Dibhuh)

[personal profile] myheadisnotbig 2014-11-06 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Dib's eyes widen when she says that last part, and he actually takes the large fish from his shoulder and stares it in the face for a moment. (The magikarp stares back. >O.O<) He looks to her again.

"...Are you sure?" He looks a LITTLE incredulous.

[personal profile] unbroken_chain 2014-11-06 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
"I've trained almost every Pokemon that exists. So, yeah. Pretty sure."
myheadisnotbig: (Scared)

[personal profile] myheadisnotbig 2014-11-06 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
Another long look at his fishy friend, (... .... ...>O.O<) and he addresses it himself.

"...You don't know Tackle, do you--"

WHUMPH!

"OOF!"

The single word seems to launch the large catfish against him all on its own, and he and the magikarp wind up in a scaly, carp-scented heap on the floor. From the looks of things, the Magikarp is just as confused as Dib is, but it's evidence to the affirmative anyway.

[personal profile] unbroken_chain 2014-11-06 11:13 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, geeze. Definitely like Eikichi. Kotoha will just go ahead and help the kid up.

"You okay? Not hurt?"
myheadisnotbig: (OKAYGREAT!)

[personal profile] myheadisnotbig 2014-11-06 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Dib gets to his feet easily enough, although the big red fish is still lying patiently on the ground and Dib doesn't look like he's going pick it back up for a while.

"I'm okay! So it really DOES listens to me... sort of. And it knows Ta--uh, I mean, it can actually fight!"

This means he won't have to swing it around like a huge scaled club to "tackle" other things, which was his ORIGINAL plan.
unbroken_chain: (laughing)

[personal profile] unbroken_chain 2014-11-06 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Grin grin!

"Good for you!"

Slight pause to shift her attention to the Magikarp.

"And for you, too, huh?"
myheadisnotbig: (Wut?)

[personal profile] myheadisnotbig 2014-11-06 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
The Magikarp flops in the affirmative. Dib now picks it up and hoists it over his shoulder again.

"I'll be nice to it like you said. If nothing else, it's cool to have an attack fish for a travel companion... or whatever you call it. Is there any more advice you can give me?"
unbroken_chain: (happy)

[personal profile] unbroken_chain 2014-11-06 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Kotoha thinks for a few moments before replying.

"Tactically speaking, once your Magikarp evolves it'll be really weak to Electric attacks, so you might want to get a Ground-type to cover for that."

Slight pause.

"In the long term, though, that doesn't matter quite as much - the real secret to being a good Trainer is pretty simple: whoever has the most fun wins!"
