WHO: Sonic, Tails, Neph and Fluttershy
WHAT: Sonic is having trouble catching more pokemon and the others finally talk to him about it.
WHEN: Slightly backdated to 11/24, afternoon
WHERE: Route 5
Sonic has a problem.
Since his start on his adventure, he's been having to adjust to a lot. Being in another world, the existence of Pokemon, the idea of having to capture them and training them to fight, getting badges. That sort of thing. However, he's having trouble capturing pokemon.
Sure he got his first badge and has a full party of pokemon at this point, but he has way less pokemon than he should. The girls especially had way more than him and Fluttershy wasn't even battling really, just befriending them.
While traveling on the current route, Sonic moved away from the group a bit, and got jumped by a wild pokemon. A wild Skiddo to be more exact.
This was a normal occurrence and Sonic is used to that by now. At first the battle seemed to be going well, but that changed when he attempted to capture it.
First he threw it too early, making it easy for the Skiddo to break out of it. And then he tried switching to Caliburn, but when Caliburn attacked with a Tackle, it made the wild pokemon faint.
Sonic makes a facepalm and shakes his head.
"Man, this really bites."
He wasn't paying full attention at the moment so he won't see any possible fellow trainers showing up coming.

Another moment, and suddenly an Audino walks over, reaching down to pick up the yarn ball. It then looks at Sonic, tilting it's head curiously.
"Aud...?"
no subject
He wasn't exactly interested in capturing this one.
"Hi little guy."
no subject
"Audino?"
no subject
He debated in his head if he should accept it or not. Well it would be uncool to act mean, plus it couldn't hurt right?
He accepts the yarn ball.
"Uh thanks."
He stares at the yarn ball figuring out what to do with it. He didn't know how to knit (mainly because that wasn't his thing), but he wasn't sure if the girls would accept a strange yarn ball that a pokemon just gave him for no reason.
Should he throw it like an actual ball? But then either the pokemon will think it's fetch or it might cry or something.
no subject
"Audino...!"
It throws the ball up into the air, and when it falls, she uses her head to let it bounce off of, over to him.
"Aud aud..."
Meanwhile, Fluttershy's Torchic hops out from behind one of the nearby bushes. "Tor?"
no subject
Sonic then notices the Torchic and realizes that's Fluttershy's. Wait, did that mean Fluttershy was here? Well he is still traveling with Tails and the girls.
"Hi there Beakon."
Meanwhile Sonic's pokemon were playing with each other by themselves. It was rare of Sur'ah to leave Sonic alone, but apparently she noticed Sonic's frustration and decided to give him some space a bit.

Beakon waves, then disappears back into the bushes. A few moments later, Fluttershy arrives.
"Oh, Sonata...! There you are..."
Hearing Fluttershy's voice, the Audino turns and heads over to her. "'dino...!"
Fluttershy smiles, then looks over and sees Sonic. "Oh...have you two met already?"
no subject
"So that liitle guy's yours, huh? Now it makes sense."
no subject
Audino smiles, tugging at Fluttershy's bag happily. "Aud!"
no subject
"I don't see why not."
He holds up the ball of yarn.
"Is this yours then? Apparently Sonata wanted to play."
no subject
"We were all playing earlier...Chris bounced it a bit too hard, and Sonata had gone to go get it. We were wondering what was taking so long..."
no subject
Granted Sonic would of course defend Sonata if the Audino got into trouble.
no subject
She then blushes a bit. "O-Oh, I'm sorry...that's really nosy of me..."
no subject
Several of Sonic's pokemon seemingly start laughing or at least the closest thing you can get to that as they seemed amused by what Sonic said.
Sur'ah puffs her feathers up in annoyance. "Eeeotto..."
Sonic makes a line face. "What? What is so funny?"
no subject
"O-Oh...h-how's that going?"
no subject
If Fluttershy listens carefully she might hear a comment from Sparks, Sonic's Pikachu.
"More like terrible, as usual."
no subject
Whether she's responding to Sonic or Sparks, it's hard to tell.
"I-It um...It seems pretty difficult...catching Pokemon that way..."
Sure she's gotten a few Pokemon herself, but none from actually battling them. She's sure she'd have a hard time catching them that way too.
no subject
"Seriously, when will he just admit that he's having trouble?"
"He only caught us out of pure luck."
"Why are we obeying him again?"
The chatter among Sonic's pokemon seem to anger Sur'ah a little and she takes into the air and starts shouting at them. "Knock it off, all of you!"
Sonic didn't expect Sur'ah going crazy. "Woah woah woah. Guys settle down, will ya?"
no subject
"So...what's the best way to, uh...to catch Pokemon? By battling, I mean..."
Maybe if she can get him to talk about it a bit, she can understand what his Pokemon meant by "having trouble".
no subject
no subject
"Just mainly weaken them enough to capture."
He notices the familiar pony approaching.
"No, everything's cool."
Of course as soon as Sonic says that, the yelling from Sonic's pokemon get louder.
"Geez, what's gotten into them?"
no subject
"Th...Th-The others have been saying things that...upset Sur'ah..."
no subject
"Whoa, what's the problem?" Pokemon arguing? Hoo boy...
no subject
"Quit trying to win his favor! You know as well as we do that he's only gotten this far by pure luck."
"That doesn't mean you guys have to be so mean about it!"
"So you admit that he's having trouble with this?"
Sur'ah let out a loud cry. "Don't you go confusing me!"
Sonic sighed. "Wish I know what they were talking about."
